Eminent Prof. (Dr.) Jagadindra Mohan Mondal (Ph.D C.U, M.Sc in Psychology C.U, M.A in Philosophy C.U) was retired form Department of Applied Psychology, University of Calcutta. He served for about twenty five years, first as a Lecturer, then Reader and then as Professor and Head of the Department. He was also the Dean of Post-Graduate studies in Science of the University of Calcutta for two years (1993-1995). The West Verginia University honoured Professor Mondal, Dean of Science University of Calcutta in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Applied Psychology and Rehabilitation. He was also presented with an award of Distinction by US-Asia Foundation for his leadership in promoting Rehabilitation Psychology in Calcutta University. He authored a number of eminent books on Mental Hygiene, Philosophy and Principles of education. History of Psychology, Dreams and Mind, Life and contribution of eminent Psychologist in Bengali and Books in English titled (1) Mental health, mental disorders and Psychotherapy"(2) "Dreams: Mirror of the Mind". At present he has been serving as an expert of external member of the renown Universities and also expert member of the P.G Board of Studies.
Dr. Dasgupta held the position of Professor in the Dept. Of Applied Psychology, University of Calcutta. He has more than 35 years teaching experience. He is a renowned person in the field of Psychology. He served as coordinator in the P.G. Diploma course of counselling run by the Department of Psychology and a project on Adolescence Health funded by the Government of West Bengal. He has a many feathers in his crown. He has published more than forty five articles in the field of mental health and positive psychology in different National and International Journals; supervised eight Ph.D. candidates. He acted as Principal investigators (P.I) in different Research projects funded by UGC, ICSSR, DST and ICMR etc. He has visited many well-known Foreign Universities. In 2017 he was awarded ‘Calcatteral Award’ by International School Psychology Association held in Manchester University, UK. Also delivered lectures in Sigmund Freud University in the year 2015. He is also an ex Senate and Syndicate Member of CU. He is a life member of Indian School Psychology Association and an executive council member of Indian Association of Applied Psychology. He is a committee member of CSC, PSC, WB, PSC and Haryana Public Service Commission.
Prof. Ray held a position of Professor in the Dept. Of Applied Psychology as well as former H.O.D of department of Applied Psychology, University of Calcutta. Dr. Anjali Ray acted as a Coordinator in a various Research, Govt. Project and Academic Courses. She is a pioneer of Student Mental Health Program as well as Adolescent Mental Health issues in West Bengal, under her leaderships developed a Training Module for Counsellor of Adolescent friendly Health Clinic supported by State Family Welfare Bureau, Govt. of W.B and UICEF. She works in the field of Stress Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Community Psychology and Educational Psychology last 30 years. She is an eminent expert in various fields including the selection process of UPSC , Indian Statistical Institute , selected Universities and organizations ( IOC, HPCL, GAIL ,etc.) Prof. Ray is a renowned and versatile person in the field of Psychology. She has lots achievement throughout her career. She has lots of research paper published in National as well as International Journal. She is also a notable member of Indian Science Congress Association, Indian Academy of Applied Psychology, Association of Industrial Psychiatry of India, Centre for Good Living and Journal of Social Science and Asiatic Society.
Surangama has been a passionate dancer since her childhood. She is a Gold Medalist (Stood First Nationally) in Sangeet Praveen from Prayag Sangit Samity, Allahabad. Surangama also holds a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology. Through the years she has brought together psychology and Kathak to create a new approach to Performing Arts. Surangama believes that Performing Art has a therapeutic effect on human well-being. Her focus is to bring peace and harmony through dynamic and innovative dance renditions as well as therapeutic models. She was the coordinator of the Performing Arts Therapy Centre, Rabindra Bharati University (Kolkata). Through the years, Surangama has performed extensively all over India, Germany, United Kingdom, USA and Canada. She visits Europe every year to facilitate workshops, lecture-demonstrations and performances at renowned Art Colleges. She was the first of her kind to visit the Department of Applied Theatre Science of Justus Liebig University, Giessen in Germany, as a Guest Professor, to teach theory and practice of Kathak Dance for the Winter Semester of 2005. She has explored new dimensions and treatments to traditional Kathak dance conceiving movements along Western Classical Music and Rabindra Sangeet. Renowned as a Career Counselor, Surangama also served this role at the Child Guidance Clinic in Moulali, The Asutosh College Training Centre. Techno India, Gokhale Memorial College and Chatterjee International Centre. She is the Founder Director of Deodar Suchanda Sangitalaya (since 1991) Kolkata. The Institute produces many flamboyant dancers and musicians. In 2010 she received the Bharat Jyoti Award from IIFS (India International Friendship Society) for her achievements and contributions in the fields of Art and Music Therapy. She is also a recipient of the esteemed UNESCO - Sahapedia Fellowship for contriving her research on “Mudra (hand gestures): Different Aspects and Dimensions''.
Gargi Dasgupta is a Clinical Psychologist at the Department of Psychiatry at the prestigious Calcutta Medical College. She holds an M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from the Department of Psychology, Calcutta University. She specialises in qualitative research. Ms. Dasgupta has been a practicing Clinical Psychologist for more than a decade and associated with institutions like St. Xavier's University, Calcutta, Indira Gandhi National Open University and Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata. He helped the crime investigation department to resolve several heinous crime cases. He is a R.C.I registered Clinical Psychologist, life time member of Indian Association of Clinical Psychology (IACP), International Association of Young Psychologist and Nationl Committee Member of the Bureau Police Research and Development for developing of E-Content in Forensic Science for Police Officer. He has more than 12 years of experience in the field of Clinical Psychology as an Assistant Professor, Mental Health Professional and Researcher.
