COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY (CBT)
CBT is a one of the best evidence based psychotherapy for Depression and Anxiety disorder. It also works effectively in different mental disorder. CBT based on a straightforward common sense model of the relationships among cognition, emotion and behaviour in human functioning in general and psychopathology in particular.
C for Cognitive: Cognitive blockage, error and beliefs system are directly connected with mental disorder. Errors in logic or cognitive distortions are quite prevalent in clients suffering from a number of different disorders. These cognitive distortions can lead to erroneous conclusions even if their perception of the situation is accurate.
B for Behaviour: Client behaviour is directly connected to belief system and cognitive distortion. Negative behaviour is increases the firmness of illogical belief and disorder.
CBT works on cognitive restructuring and behaviour modification of the client to cure the illness within 12-13 sessions. Number of session may vary on client and severity of disorder. It is a continuous process of learning and understanding.
