Hyperactivity Disorder (A.D.H.D)

A.D.H.D begins in childhood where a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development. Inattention manifests behaviourally in ADHD as wandering off task, lacking persistence, having difficulty sustaining focus, and being disorganized and is not due to defiance of lack of comprehension. Hyperactivity refers to excessive motor activity (such as child running about) when it is not appropriate, or excessive fidgeting, tapping or talkativeness. Attention or Hyperactivity manifestation must be present more than one situation (Eg; if the child has difficulty to seat in one place at home but he is seat quietly outside the home as per requirement than its not Hyperactivity).

Symptoms:
– Difficulty in focused and sustained attention.
– Difficulty to organizing task.
– Often loses things.
– Forgetful in daily activities.
– Restless.
– Impulsive.
– Unable to seat one place.
– Talkative.
– Interfere during the other conversation.

Treatment:
– Behaviour Therapy
– Pharmacotherapy
– Occupation Therapy
